Skull Crack....Boom Head Shot!
I was going to post this in the useless elite challenge but I think it should be a stand alone challenge. I have found Skull Crack to be an interesting choice in elite skill use when trying to solo specific areas. I noticed in that thread that many call it a useless elite.
Skull Crack {Elite} - Melee Attack
If this attack hits while target foe is casting a spell, that foe is Dazed for 15 seconds.
I use a mix run/tank/inturrupt build when farming emberlight camp bosses. I know there are other ways but I am trying to find something better.
Here is the challenge. Present us an area with at least 3 bosses that can be reached with just sprint (possible balanced stance). These bosses should be other than Warrior so that our Elite is not useless . Finish the build and guide any way you like. This is open to W/X
This is just for fun so no flames please.

So...
We have got to go to an area with 3 or more bosses that is reachable with just sprint and do what exactly?
Its a Warrior challenge so I'll be up for it

A 15 second daze is very hectic if you get it on the one and usually only monk...(not talking about 8v8 here)...on a boss, it's not as good though...7.5 secs. Good skill, if used correctly. I can imagine this, but really not a boss challenge.

Yes Skull Crack on your bar and must be used.
This is a good skill. I swear there is a place that it is benificial in a solo build. There is also a reason why this skill is used over others.
The above posts are valid points...and yes I am going a little too far in saying this is a great elite that I choose above others. This thread is not about proving that it has a better use than what I am suggesting. This thread is simply a challenge for those of us that are looking for something to do while waiting for chapter 2.
I would entertain any other challenges....please start another post if you have something you would like to see accomplished.

You can go right outside of beacon's perch into lornar's pass, there are like 2-3 bossed near by.

You can also leave Rankor to the west (Or south I forget) and a sprint could get you to a boss or two if you know where to go.

So we have to have Skull Crack in our skillbars...does that mean we have to actually use it? Often I find it more convenient to dodge or simply tank the damage caused by a spell, rather than interrupt it. e.g. Meteor Showers, which I dodge, or Maelstroms, which I tank. If I have to interrupt a spell, give me any of the other non-elite interrupts, I've always got a better elite that can take Skull Crack's spot.
|
I agree. If I am going to have to take an Interupt I'd rather take Disrupting Chop for an axe or the non-attribute distrupt. But, like you said above. I am sure there are places where this build can be beneficial.

It is an effective interupt but as an elite I'd much rather take something else. Like WE which is very handy on Breeze reliant W's. Or many other Elites. But I guess it boils down to what you want in your personal build.

skull crack is not just 1 interrupt. skull crack is complete shutdown of a caster. dazed is a deadly condition for casters.
it's true that elites are dependent on your build and personal choice. but i would suggest not completely disregarding the skill if you've never seen how effective it is.

This skill is very good if you enjoy soloing the monk griffon boss.

I could see this skill being used in a w/x mineral springs solo. Not tested though. This would own the guiles, wise and ardents.
